Vineyard being planted in Carmel Valley

Carmel Valley Vineyard, a new church plant, began with a home group last fall. Now meeting at 10 on Sunday mornings at the Del Mar Doubletree Hotel, it offers the Carmel Valley community an evangelical, spirit filled church. Worship is at the heart of the church and is based on the Vineyard music which has been a great blessing to the body of Christ.

Rick and Jinx Whitehall are the pastors. The Whitehalls, but for a two year period at Hope Church in Richfield, Minn., have been Carmel Valley residents since 1987. They have a vision for the community and believe that churches are most effective when community based.

“Though there are many unsaved in Carmel Valley, there is little proclamation of the word of God, and the good news of Jesus Christ within Carmel Valley itself,” said Rick Whitehall. “Part of the vision is to be located right in Carmel Valley — hopefully in the center of the community.”

Prior to entering full time ministry, Rick was clinical director of the counseling center at U.C. San Diego. The Carmel Valley Vineyard can be reached at (619) 792-6112.
