It would be a privilege to meet with the President of the United States and especially George W. Bush. There are a few things I would like to say to him. First, I would tell him how proud I am to have a President who is a Christian and is not afraid to openly express his faith. I admire the fact that he lets the country know that he’s a man of prayer, who consults the Lord before making important decisions. I also heard him say that he reads Oswald Chamber’s daily devotional. Something to which we both have in common.
As a pastor, I’m always interested to know the circumstances of how a person came to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, so I would venture that question to the President in hope of hearing his testimony.
I would thank him for his stand against stem cell research from aborted babies and his stand on marriage between a man and a woman. It was issues of this nature that prompted the Christian vote.
Finally I would let him know that I will continue to pray for him to lead our great country in the way the Lord directs him. I would also extend an invitation to him to visit our church if at all possible when he’s in the state.
