In North County, 500-600 volunteers from numerous churches will be out in force this month passing out 10,000 “Jesus” videos along the Highway 78 corridor.
“Pastors and churches are coming together, sharing the vision of giving every home in North County the opportunity to know Jesus personally,” said David Goad, North County coordinator.
Homes in the Poway-Rancho Bernardo-Penasquitos area will receive the videos, as well as many residents in the cities of Escondido, San Marcos, Vista, Oceanside and Carlsbad. Homes in the Encinitas area are also being targeted.
Believers across North County will be giving the “Jesus” video – which is straight from the book of Luke – on Saturday, April 4, eight days before Easter. Additional people who would like to participate can call (760) 740-9728.
On April 26, a Jesus-Victory Celebration Sunday potluck is being planned at a North County park from noon to 3 p.m. Music and testimonies about the April 4 distribution date will be featured.
Goad said that the second phase of the North County video distribution – to additional neighborhoods – is scheduled for July 11. Then in November, as a Thanksgiving gift to those neighborhoods still to be touched by the video, another outreach is planned.
The goal, Goad said, is to get the “Jesus” video into every North County home by the year 2000. “This may be one of the most powerful opportunities to fulfill the Great Commission in North County,” he said.
