Most pregnancies in the United States are unplanned even though 98 percent of American women use some form of contraception during their reproductive years, according to a new study by New York’s Alan Guttmacher Institute.
The study found that more than half of all pregnancies are unintended and about one in four pregnancies ends in abortion. U.S. levels of unplanned pregnancy and abortion are higher than many other industrialized nations.
