This year’s annual Moms In Touch Rally will be held Friday, Oct. 10, at the Murphy Canyon Chapel of Light, 3200 Santo Road in the Tierrasanta/Murphy Canyon community.
Fern Nichols is the founder and president of Moms in Touch International and will be the featured speaker for the rally. Her message “Pray With Passion” will challenge participants to grow in their prayer life and walk with God through prayer.
Registration, fellowship and MITI merchandise sales begin at 8 a.m. Coffee and bagels will be served. At 9 a.m. to noon the rally begins with praise and worship. Leadership training will take place from 12:45 to 2:45 p.m. after a short lunch break. (Bring a sack lunch).
Nichols will lead participants as a group in a Moms In Touch hour, demonstrate one accord praying, and teach how to get the most from the recently revised and updated Leader’s Guide. Moms in Touch is an interdenominational ministry where two or more moms meet together for one hour a week to pray for their children and the school they attend.
A weekly Moms In Touch meeting has four components: praise, in which the group discusses an attribute of God with reference to Scripture; confession, a period of silent acknowledgment of wrongdoing; thanksgiving, expression of gratitude for prayers answered; and intercession, in which the group breaks into small units and prays for individuals and for the school.
Moms In Touch began in 1984 with just one group and since then has grown into an international ministry with over 35,000 groups spread throughout the 50 states and is in 82 foreign countries. All interested Moms are invited to attend and bring a friend. No child care will be provided. For more information contact Judy Dolbey, area coordinator, at (619) 292-4357.
